LACE LACE SURROUNDED BY LACE ~The Stitch Fiddler~ Izannah Walker Inspired Doll

Last night I finished sewing her "hand sewn" pantaloons using white linen and added four pintucks. I also finished her white linen petticoat with a single button closure all hand sewn. I'm trying to decide  which lace, among all these hand crocheted laces, to trim the petticoat. Over the years I've gathered up a stash of vintage lace.  Some of the lace is done by tatting...very tiny.

My sewing room is in disarray at the moment.

Thank-you Judi, Monica, Helena, and Sherri.

I am just soooo excited to be at this stage....it's slow going...well what can I say "hand sewing" isn't quick.

Now on to sew the lace.

Thank-you Mary, I hand stitched the crocheted lace to the hem last night and I'm doing the dress today....yeah!

I really understand about getting out all the laces and trims before coming to a decision at to which to use. So, yes, in the middle of making a doll, there is always a table, perhaps two, covered in all kinds of treasure. Your doll looks lovely and she have some lovely things to choose from. And I'm really impressed you're hand sewing everything. Good luck!

Thank-you Rhissanna. It's nice to hear how others like yourself have tables out covered in treasures! I use to put the table out then put it away....sowehow it's now a permanent fixture in the middle of my sewing room.

The dolls is coming along and I'm now working on the cartridge pleating... :)
