ELF CHIMNEY AND ARMATURE

~ELF~  On The Rooftop
The stockings are painted and he needs shoes. The online doll class instructions give a different way of making the Chimney, which are very good. But I did my own thing. I used a pencil to draw the bricks freehand trying to get the bricks to go around the corners and match up.

The Chimney still needs the "secret ingredient" Kathryn Walmsley gives us to make the top of the Chimney roof look like cement. This is my first doll wire armature. I decided to go with another style of armature than what the class was instructed to do. There's nothing wrong with the online class armature....it's just sometimes I may change up or do something different.

SCULPTING ELF HANDS AND LEGS

I finished sculpting the arms and legs. Since these are my first pair, it took awhile. I was trying to follow Kathryn's instructions and measurements during her online class.
If I sculpt more often, I will purchase special tools to sculpt the fingernails. The holes are drilled to receive the armature and I started the painting.

~ONLINE DOLL CLASS ~MIXED MEDIA~

Up On The Roof Top With Kathryn Walmsley

During this class I will learn to design my own project working from a favorite 2D image. Kathryn gives good instructions on the size of each feature which is a great help.
