SQUIRREL WIP

This is just the beginning stages of the sculpt. I've never made an animal's head using paper clay. I also have to remember this is a "character figure" and not a "realistic" squirrel.
Squirrel Head Sculpture WIP by Bethann Scott
I like to sculpt during the summer and fall months. I can sit outside and not worry about the mess Creative Paper Clay can make. Most of the mess comes from the sanding part. I have a balcony overlooking our backyard and enjoy watching the birds and yes, the squirrels too!

Congratulations to your daughter! amazing achievement.

I just sculpted a dear head, and found it really difficult trying not to fret over making it realistic - I didn't want it to look realistic, yet I wanted it to be accurate. Not sure I achieved either! LOL

Oh my goodness! This is looking wonderful! Humm, and I like your idea about sculpting outside. The sanding does make a huge mess, doesn't it? Maybe I should consider that when it's cooler in the evening.

He has the most wonderful, mischievous little smile that I think is perfect for a squirrel.
