CHEMISE FITTING

The plans for this doll is a Renaissance style costume with a full skirt and possible bustier. I made a period chemise for the doll but after trying it on her, I realized it will be too bulky under her costume. I find it hard not to sew a complete costume including all the "proper" underpinnings.

It is a pity indeed. I too like to do the whole costumes but unfortunately a dolls body does not lend to do it that way. For the size of dolls I make anyway. Maybe for a bigger doll it might be easier

I love undies too, but bulk can be an issue. Can't wait to see this lovely lady finished.

You have such a wonderful eye for the smallest details. I can understand why you'd have a hard time, not sewing all parts of the costume. I'm looking forward to watching this doll come to life.
