Happy Easter 2016

Wishing you a wonderful Easter Day.

The doll I've been working on has become an Angel and it seemed appropriate with Easter just a few days away. I was thinking she may be a fairy, but it became clear that she was going to be an Angel when I added her wings. The wings took some time to construct. I need to finish a few more details before she is finished.

My Columbia Moth Fairy cloth doll traveled to the 2016 Manteca Quilt and Doll Show that was held this month in Manteca California. I was delighted to win two Ribbons for her. The Presidents Choice Best Doll Ribbon and the Viewers Choice Best Doll Ribbon.

I took these photos once the doll arrived home. It would be nice to receive a photo of her at the show.

I also received a special handmade fabric ribbon for my participation.

Today I finished my "Alice In Wonderland" doll. She's a cloth doll that has several layers of clothing and a whimsical top hat. This was a fun doll to make during an online doll class with Angela Jarecki.

Under Construction

I have a few projects on my work table and I'm enjoying the process of constructing a royal blue outfit for my doll. One day I will learn to sketch the doll I want to create and then create it.

The underskirt is a purple but appears blue in the photo. I wanted a royal blue and gold combination and then as I went along I added another complementary color, purple. Much is pinned in place until I make my final decisions.
