I finally finished the Elf Up on the Rooftop today. This project took about 3-4 weeks to complete. I took an online doll class with instructor Kathryn Walmsley. The class is quite an undertaking and has a lot of detail. This is my first paperclay doll class.

I added the hair, collar, cuffs, holly trim, drum and the jumping jack. The jacket is made with red sparkle satin and is fully lined. Yellow pearl beads embellish the front. The gold sleeves are silk and the shoes are glued in place, but next time I will hand sew a pair. I really don't like to use glue.

Oh Bethann, you should be so proud of this doll!!What a great work this is.It was good that you took on board those challenges, and overcame them.Yes, I don't like glue or paint all that much.In fact I have some glue on my fingers now, and it feels horrible!!
Must look up this lady's works. I'm almost ready to start doll making again after a short break.
He's wonderful Bethann:) You are truly one talented doll artist.
Oy my! He's wonderful! Really wonderful! I love the colours and the energetic pose and the way he looks like a Victorian toy, but fresh and new.
Thank-you Judy, Mary Ann and Rhissanna. I had fun and hopefully increased my skills with the online class.
